Be a Real Men
Contract: Sign at the end and print
How to Treat the Women you Love
I will not put my hands on any women
I will not say horrible things about my wife or girlfriend
I will not call her out of her name
I will not use profanity in any arguments
I will not control her
I will treat her with respect
I will be there in her time of need.
I will treat her like she's my best friend
I would treat like I should treat my mom.

Love
Love according to the dictionary
a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2.
a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
So love is actually a good thing right?
Why in some relationships it starts out that way but have end up having a bad relationship? Some have an abusive relationship. They beat them and tells them that I'm sorry and I love you and that they would never do it again. Why does this cycle of abuse ever happen. It could be because of alcohol, drugs anger management issues they want control or it's a learned behavior. The bottom line is no one has the right to put their hands on you.
Love should feel good. You love and always want to be around that person but make sure it's not in an unhealthy way but you enjoy being with them, not living in fear with that person you feel comfortable. Accepting that person the way that person is. The person would want the best for you and support you. The person is like a friend but you are attracted to him which makes it romantic love.
I don't know why abusers hit on people they love or if they even love them at all but screaming at them, yelling at them, hitting on them is not the way to show that you love them.

It's Not Your Fault. Leave.
Remember that Rihanna and Chris Brown thing back in 2008? Or 09? Well I was on youtube looking at Rihanna and Chris Brown music videos and Could'nt believe what I read. Comments from people saying Rihanna had it coming or I hate her anyway or it wasn't Chris Browns fault.
It's not the victims fault if their boyfriend or girlfriend abuses them. It is not. It doesn't matter if they cheat on you, made you mad or offended you. What Chris Brown did was wrong. If someone abuses you don't feel guilty about what they did to you. Leave! Get out! And never go back. Domestic violence isn't a joke. If we are in that mentality that it's the victims fault, how are we suppose to change?

Jenni Lyn Watson
2,000 victims die from domestic violence every year. Jenni Lyn Watson was only twenty years old when she went missing while she was visiting her home during thanksgiving. Days later her remains were found in the park. They arrested her boyfriend on a charge with second degree murder. Even though the news didn't say how their relationship was. It seems like their relationship beforehand wasn't healthy. Her friends say that Jennis boyfriend was obsessive and compulsive. She broke up with him in October 2010. That is what makes me sad she aleady broke-up with him and he kills her anyway in her own house. (Well her families house) Which makes it worse. And knowing that this tragedy could have been prevented. In the article it says that they had an on again off again relationship. I wish she would have not gotten back with them those many times. She would have been alive today. I guess we should just keep the family in our thoughts. And pray for them

Men can be abused too.
We all know that women are abused a lot but men can be too. There are many man who are abused but they don't talk about it much. Men are afraid to tell someone. They are men out there that treat women with respect and have soft hearts. According to the Nov. 1998 Department of Justice report on the National Violence Against Women Survey 834,732 men were abused I don't know if it changed since then but it's serious we can't forget to help men who are being physically abused. Even though my experience have been a women getting abused but men get abused too. I wasn't planning on writing about this for my first blog but I think this is important.I don't know if they are programs that help man who are going through abuse by their partner but there needs to be more talk about that.
